Hi! My name is Mrs. Evans, aka Mrs. Crowe (I got hitched this summer!) and I will be one of your 2nd Grade teacher this year. I graduated from Washington State University (GO COUGS!) with a degree in elementary education. I also have a reading endorsement as well as background in special education. I am also a National Board Certified teacher. I enjoy doing anything active, which can range from most sports, being on a boat in the summer, or hitting the snowy mountains snowboarding. I recently have gotten into boxing and am loving it! I am a mom of 7 year old Bennett, 3 year old Hayes, and 1 year old Blayke. They keep me extremely busy in the best way. I have 2 years substituting experience and 4 1/2 year of teaching experience in 1st grade. This will be my 6th year in 2nd grade and I love everything about this grade level. I have been GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) trained for 6 years and will be implementing many strategies over this year. In fact, Mrs. Dirk and I have the pleasure of being the model classroom again this year. I recently stepped back from being the JV softball coach at Southridge High-School. It passed the time during the spring for me for 9 years. My teaching philosophy is very hands on. I want to teach the kids to be in control of their own learning and be able to work independently as well as cooperating with each other. I believe that every student can be great. I want to students to understand that Good is fine, doing the bare minimum will probably get you by, but effort and perseverance can make you great! I am excited about this year and feel free to contact me at any time.
